GA-251/9 – Sd.Kfz. 251/9 Mittlerer Schützenpanzerwagen – 7.5cm Kanone

The adaptable Sd.Kfz. 251 chassis was developed into numerous specialised versions as the war progressed.

Among them was the Sd.Kfz. 251/9, fitted with a 7.5cm gun to provide heavier fire support for mechanised infantry. The additional weapon gave Panzergrenadier units mobile firepower capable of accompanying their armoured carriers.

GA-251/9 therefore offers a noticeably different battlefield role from the troop-carrying 251/1.

Place the two variants together and the display begins to show the mixture of transport and supporting firepower found within a mechanised formation.
