GG60-01 – Infantry Officer – 3rd Battalion, 60th King's Royal Rifle Corps

The King's Royal Rifle Corps looked noticeably different from the red-coated infantry commonly associated with the Victorian British Army. Its rifle heritage was reflected in its distinctive dark green uniforms and traditions of light infantry service.

GG60-01 portrays an Infantry Officer of the 3rd Battalion, 60th King's Royal Rifle Corps, part of the force involved in the Eshowe relief operations during the Anglo-Zulu War.

As the senior figure within a group of riflemen, he makes a natural focal point for a KRRC formation.
