GG91-07 – Two British Infantry Highlanders – 91st Regiment
The British infantry line at Gingindlovu was not a perfectly uniform row of men all performing the same movement. Soldiers fired, reloaded, watched the enemy and prepared themselves as the Zulu attack developed around the defensive perimeter.
GG91-07 captures two different moments within that line: one Highlander standing with his rifle pointed downward and a second kneeling at the ready. Both represent the 91st Regiment – Princess Louise's Argyllshire Highlanders during the Anglo-Zulu War.
These contrasting poses are particularly useful when mixed among firing and loading figures, breaking up the regularity of a larger formation and creating a more convincing sense of men reacting individually to the battle.
Available from The Military Workshop – a versatile John Jenkins Designs two-figure set bringing natural variation to the ranks of the 91st Highlanders.
