GGZ-33 – Zulus with Muskets | John Jenkins Designs

GGZ-33 depicts warriors of the inGobamakhosi Regiment armed with muskets during the Anglo-Zulu War.

The regiment was one of the major Zulu formations involved in the fighting of 1879 and contained many experienced warriors. At Gingindhlovu it formed part of the large Zulu force opposing Lord Chelmsford’s relief column as it advanced towards the besieged garrison at Eshowe.

Rather than portray these warriors exclusively with traditional stabbing spears, John Jenkins has equipped this group with firearms and presents them as skirmishers attempting to apply pressure to the British defensive line.

Their distinctive regimental headgear and varied shields give the figures plenty of visual character and make them an interesting contrast to the more traditionally armed Zulu warriors in the range.

Will be available from The Military Workshop.
