GGZ-33N – Zulus with Muskets | John Jenkins Designs
GGZ-33N represents warriors of the inGobamakhosi Regiment armed with muskets during the Battle of Gingindhlovu on 2 April 1879.
The inGobamakhosi, whose name has been translated as “The Bender of Kings”, was formed in 1873 and included men born during the early 1850s. The regiment had already gained significant battlefield experience and included veterans of Isandlwana.
Its warriors were distinguished by elaborate headgear and a variety of shield colour schemes, reflecting the different age cohorts that had been brought together when the regiment was formed.
For this release, John Jenkins has chosen to portray the inGobamakhosi as a firearm-equipped skirmishing force, using muskets to pin down part of the British defensive position while other Zulu formations carried out their attacks.
GGZ-33N provides a substantial group for collectors wanting to create a strong Zulu skirmish line at Gingindhlovu.
Will be available from The Military Workshop.
