GLA-03W – ANZACs Charging – White Shirts – Gallipoli
Gallipoli was a battlefield of steep ridges, narrow gullies, exposed slopes and hastily constructed trenches. For the Australian and New Zealand troops who landed there in 1915, even relatively short advances could involve exhausting climbs under enemy fire.
GLA-03W captures ANZAC soldiers charging in white shirts, creating an energetic representation of troops moving forward across the difficult terrain.
The shirts give the figures a distinctly campaign-worn appearance, far removed from the immaculate uniformity of a parade ground. That visual informality is particularly appropriate to the heat, dust and harsh conditions experienced on the peninsula.
Place them emerging from a trench, climbing a slope or advancing alongside other GLA charging figures. Mixing white- and blue-shirt versions can create a wonderfully varied body of Australian troops.
Available through The Military Workshop – a dynamic John Jenkins Designs ANZAC set bringing the urgency and difficult terrain of the Gallipoli fighting to life.
