GLA-15B – ANZAC Firing – Blue Shirts

Rifle fire remained at the heart of infantry combat at Gallipoli. The Australian soldier's standard service rifle was the Short Magazine Lee-Enfield, a reliable bolt-action weapon capable of a rapid rate of aimed fire in trained hands.

GLA-15B depicts ANZAC troops firing while wearing blue shirts, providing a useful stationary combat element among the numerous charging figures in the series.

They can be positioned supporting an assault from behind, defending a trench or engaging Ottoman positions across a narrow section of no-man's-land.

The blue shirts also add useful colour variation when mixed with the white-shirt versions, helping create the appearance of troops who had been living and fighting in the field rather than a perfectly uniform formation.

Available through The Military Workshop – a finely detailed John Jenkins Designs firing set for strengthening the ANZAC line at Gallipoli.
