GLT-05 – Turkish Infantry Firing Set #4
When Allied troops landed on the Gallipoli Peninsula in April 1915, they encountered an Ottoman defence that would prove far more determined and effective than Allied planners had anticipated.
GLT-05 – Turkish Infantry Firing Set #4 represents Ottoman soldiers engaging the attacking Allied forces with rifle fire.
The rugged terrain of Gallipoli strongly favoured defenders who could occupy ridges, trenches and concealed positions overlooking the approaches. Ottoman infantry repeatedly fought to prevent Allied forces from breaking out from their restricted beachheads.
This set provides the essential opposition for the John Jenkins Designs ANZAC range. Position the riflemen behind earthworks or higher ground, with advancing Australians below them, and the geography of the campaign begins to tell its own story.
Additional Ottoman firing sets can be distributed along a trench rather than placed in a perfectly straight line, producing a much more natural defensive position.
Available through The Military Workshop – a detailed John Jenkins Designs Ottoman infantry set bringing the defenders of the Gallipoli Peninsula into your First World War collection.
