GLT-09 – Turk with Grenades
As the opposing armies dug deeper into Gallipoli, grenades became essential weapons for close-range trench fighting.
GLT-09 – Turk with Grenades depicts an Ottoman soldier equipped for this dangerous form of combat.
Grenades could be thrown into enemy trenches before an assault, used against troops approaching a defensive position or exchanged across the narrow stretches separating opposing lines.
The figure works particularly well near GLT-08's grenade catapult or alongside riflemen occupying a trench. It can also be positioned at the centre of a small counterattack against advancing ANZAC troops.
