GWA-05(60) – Two Infantry Advancing – 60th Battalion

Moving across a First World War battlefield rarely resembled an orderly parade-ground advance. Infantry had to negotiate shell craters, shattered trenches, mud, wire and debris, often while under artillery and machine-gun fire.

GWA-05(60) captures two soldiers of the 60th Battalion AIF advancing, giving the figures a strong sense of movement that makes them ideal for the forward portion of a Western Front diorama.

The 60th Battalion formed part of the 15th Brigade, 5th Australian Division, and fought in France and Belgium after arriving on the Western Front in 1916.

The two-man set can be positioned leaving a trench, crossing a No Man's Land base or moving between shell holes. Place an officer nearby and support the advance with a Stokes mortar crew farther to the rear to build a much broader battlefield narrative.

Available from The Military Workshop – two dynamic John Jenkins Designs Australian infantrymen bringing the 60th Battalion's advance across the Western Front to life.
