GWB-80 – William Charles Fuller VC

Private William Charles Fuller was a Welsh soldier whose actions during the opening months of the First World War earned him the Victoria Cross.

Serving with the 2nd Battalion, Welsh Regiment, Fuller distinguished himself during fighting near Chézy-sur-Aisne, France, on 14 September 1914.

During the action, an officer was wounded and left exposed to enemy fire. Fuller went forward, carried the wounded man to cover and subsequently helped move him farther towards safety despite the danger around them. His conduct resulted in the award of the Victoria Cross.

GWB-80 portrays William Charles Fuller and introduces a documented individual story of courage into the John Jenkins Designs Great War collection.

Rather than representing an anonymous soldier, the figure provides collectors with a direct connection to one man's experience during the early mobile phase of the Western Front, before the vast trench systems commonly associated with the war had fully developed.

Available from The Military Workshop – a historically significant John Jenkins Designs portrayal of William Charles Fuller VC, commemorating an extraordinary act of courage during the opening months of the First World War.
