GWF-03 – Berliet Truck
The First World War was not won by front-line soldiers alone. Modern industrial armies depended upon a constant stream of ammunition, food, fuel, replacements and equipment, and motor trucks became increasingly important in moving those supplies.
French manufacturer Berliet became closely associated with this enormous wartime transport effort.
GWF-03 – Berliet Truck represents one of the vehicles that helped keep French forces supplied across the vast road network behind the Western Front.
The truck is particularly suitable for a Verdun-inspired display, where French motor transport played an essential role in maintaining the flow of men and material along the supply routes feeding the battle.
Pair it with loading crews, stacked supplies and French personnel to create a working depot or roadside scene. Several transport elements together can also illustrate the industrial scale of the logistics required by modern warfare.
