The Poilus de la Grande Guerre – the ordinary French infantrymen of the Great War – endured four years of extraordinarily demanding service across the Western Front.
GWF-21 – Two PCDF Walking #1 captures two French soldiers away from the dramatic moment of attack, simply moving through the battlefield environment.
That makes this pair extremely versatile. Soldiers spent far more time marching between positions, carrying equipment, moving along communication trenches and transferring between the front and reserve areas than they did actually charging the enemy.
Walking figures can be positioned on a road beside a Berliet truck, moving towards a trench, passing an artillery battery or joining a larger column of French troops.
When mixed with other poses, they also help create the impression of a unit in continuous movement rather than a collection made entirely from combat figures.
