HITT-09A – Hittite Spearman
A single infantry figure can be surprisingly valuable when constructing a large ancient army.
HITT-09A – Hittite Spearman represents one of the ordinary fighting men who formed the foundation beneath the kings, commanders and chariot warriors of the Hittite military system.
The Hittite Empire reached the height of its influence during the Late Bronze Age, competing with Egypt for control of strategically important territories in Syria. Its military strength rested upon the ability to mobilise substantial forces from across the empire and associated states.
The spearman can be positioned almost anywhere within that force – guarding a command group, reinforcing the main infantry ranks or accompanying chariots as part of a broader battlefield.
For collectors who already have the larger Hittite sets, HITT-09A is particularly useful for filling awkward spaces and preventing formations from looking too perfectly arranged.
