HMRR-05RN – Hastati – Red Shields
HMRR-05RN expands the red-shielded Hastati available for John Jenkins Designs' Mid-Republican Roman army.
The period represented by these figures was one of extraordinary military transformation. Rome progressed from fighting for dominance within Italy to confronting major Mediterranean powers, most famously Carthage during the Punic Wars.
The Roman legion's ability to continue fighting after severe setbacks became one of its defining strengths. The Hastati formed an important part of that system, fighting in the forward heavy-infantry line before the subsequent lines could be committed if required.
This release is particularly useful for increasing the numbers around the larger HMRR-04 formations. Mixing the poses gives a stronger impression of an army made up of individual soldiers rather than identical miniatures.
