HMRR-07Y – Hastatus – Yellow Shield
The armies of Republican Rome were not yet the Imperial legions familiar from the age of Augustus and his successors.
HMRR-07Y – Hastatus belongs to an earlier military world, when Rome's manipular legions were fighting their way to dominance across Italy and eventually into the wider Mediterranean.
Presented with a yellow shield, this individual warrior can form part of a visually distinct body of Hastati.
The figure is especially useful alongside the larger yellow-shield infantry sets. Instead of repeating one group several times, individual releases can be inserted throughout the ranks, making the formation appear much more natural.
Place him near a Centurion or standard bearer, on the flank of the formation or among other Hastati preparing to engage the enemy.
