HMRR-09R – Hastatus – Red Shield

Rome's soldiers of the Middle Republic fought some of the most demanding wars in the city's history.

Against the Samnites, they competed for control of Italy. Against Carthage, they fought a Mediterranean struggle that included Hannibal's invasion and devastating Roman defeats at battles such as Cannae.

HMRR-09R – Hastatus represents one of the ordinary heavy infantrymen behind that extraordinary military history.

The red shield gives the figure a strong visual presence and coordinates with the other HMRR-R releases. Used individually, he makes a fine character piece; placed within a formation, his real value lies in adding another pose to the ranks.
