HMRR-11R – Hastatus – Red Shield
The strength of the Mid-Republican Roman army lay partly in its ability to combine individual fighting ability with collective organisation.
HMRR-11R adds another red-shielded Hastatus to that system.
Placed alongside other Hastati, the figure can represent the first heavy-infantry line moving towards the enemy after the lighter troops have performed their skirmishing role. Behind them, further Roman formations could provide support if the initial attack did not succeed.
For collectors, the individual release offers freedom to build formations around the available space. He can fill a gap beside a standard, stand on uneven terrain or extend a flank without requiring another complete multi-figure set.
Combine several individual HMRR releases and the Roman line quickly becomes much less repetitive.
