HMRR-14Y – Hastatus – Yellow Shield
HMRR-14Y brings the same Mid-Republican infantry theme to the yellow-shielded formation, offering collectors another pose with which to expand their Roman army.
The Hastati were one component of a system that gave Roman commanders tactical depth. A battle did not necessarily depend upon one initial collision; subsequent troops could be brought into action as circumstances demanded.
The yellow shield makes this figure easy to integrate with the corresponding HMRR releases while remaining visually distinct from the red-shielded units.
Position him among a dense infantry block or leave slightly greater spacing between figures to suggest a formation advancing over uneven ground.
Used alongside the command figures and Cornicen, HMRR-14Y becomes part of a much broader representation of Roman battlefield organisation.
