HMRR-14YN – Hastati with Yellow Shields
When building a Roman army, one or two warriors can represent individuals; a substantial group begins to convey the collective strength of the legion.
HMRR-14YN – Hastati with Yellow Shields is designed for exactly that purpose, adding further manpower to the yellow-shielded Mid-Republican infantry.
The Hastati occupied a demanding place in the Roman tactical system. As the first main line of heavy infantry, they could be among the earliest legionaries to enter close combat after the initial skirmishing phase.
Rather than arranging the figures in an absolutely straight line, collectors can stagger them slightly and combine them with HMRR-04YN, HMRR-05YN and the individual yellow-shield poses. This creates a formation with considerable depth and natural variation.
Add a yellow-shield command group nearby and the finished display can represent a distinct Roman formation within a much larger battlefield.
