HRSBUD-03A – Army Mules
The mule may lack the romantic reputation of the cavalry horse, but it was one of the most useful animals employed by armies operating across the American West.
HRSBUD-03A – Army Mules represents the pack animals responsible for carrying supplies into country where conventional wagons could be impractical.
Mules were valued for their endurance, sure-footedness and ability to negotiate difficult terrain. Food, ammunition, tents and other essential equipment could be distributed among pack animals accompanying troops on campaign.
Their presence can completely change the character of a Plains Wars diorama. Instead of showing cavalry mysteriously operating far from its supply base, the mules introduce the logistical system that allowed those soldiers to remain in the field.
Position them behind the fighting troops, with handlers or around a temporary camp to create a convincing campaign scene.
