By the time Boudica's army met the forces of Suetonius Paulinus in its decisive battle, the revolt had already inflicted severe damage upon Roman Britain.
IC-08A – Iceni Warrior Charging represents one of the warriors committed to that struggle, caught in the forward momentum of an attack.
Ancient Roman writers claimed that Boudica commanded an enormous force, although their precise numbers should be treated cautiously. What is clear is that the rebellion had attracted substantial support and presented the Romans with one of the most serious challenges they faced during the conquest of Britain.
This individual figure is particularly useful at the front of a diorama. Place him several steps ahead of other warriors, perhaps approaching a tightly packed Roman shield line, to create a strong sense of impending contact.
