JAN-07 – Janissary Zihril Nefer Armoured Assault Soldier
JAN-07 focuses on an individual Zihril Nefer, allowing one of these distinctive armoured Ottoman soldiers to be appreciated as a character in his own right.
The combination of substantial armour and close-combat equipment reflects an age of military transition. Firearms were becoming increasingly important, but heavily protected soldiers could still have value in situations where fighting occurred at very short range.
A single figure is also extremely useful for the collector. JAN-07 can be added to the larger Zihril Nefer sets to break up repeated poses or positioned independently beside a command group.
In a siege diorama, place him close to a gateway, breach or defensive obstacle where the heavy protection appears particularly appropriate.
