JJCLUB-2009 – Lt. Jenkins of the Provincials – The Raid on St. Francis
The Raid on St. Francis in October 1759 remains one of the most famous episodes associated with Robert Rogers and his Rangers during the French and Indian War.
Rogers led a force deep into enemy-controlled territory to attack the Abenaki settlement of Odanak, known to the British as St. Francis, on the St. Lawrence River system. The operation was difficult and controversial, involving a long approach through wilderness and a gruelling withdrawal during which Rogers' force suffered severely from hunger and exhaustion.
JJCLUB-2009 – Lt. Jenkins of the Provincials was produced as a special John Jenkins Designs Collectors' Club figure associated with this dramatic campaign. The provincial officer provides a different character from the better-known Rangers and Native warriors normally associated with the St. Francis series.
The figure is ideal for a woodland scene, perhaps accompanying Rangers during their advance or withdrawal. Add trees, rough ground and other figures from the St. Francis range and Lt. Jenkins becomes part of one of the most atmospheric wilderness campaigns of the French and Indian War.
Available through The Military Workshop – a distinctive John Jenkins Designs Collectors' Club figure representing a provincial officer within the story of the 1759 Raid on St. Francis.
