JJCLUB-2015C – Digger Jenkins
The term “Digger” became one of the most enduring informal names associated with Australian soldiers, particularly through the experience of the First World War.
JJCLUB-2015C – Digger Jenkins brings an Australian character into the John Jenkins Designs Collectors' Club tradition.
Australian troops served in some of the hardest campaigns of the Great War, from Gallipoli in 1915 to the Western Front battles of 1916–1918. Over time, the image of the Digger became closely connected with ideas of mateship, endurance and the distinctive identity developed by Australian servicemen overseas.
This figure can be integrated into an Australian Great War display or kept as an individual Club piece. Alongside AIF figures, wounded troops and supporting weapons, Digger Jenkins helps personalise a much larger battlefield scene.
For Australian collectors in particular, it is a wonderfully appropriate entry in the long-running Jenkins series.
Available from The Military Workshop – a special John Jenkins Designs “Digger Jenkins” representing the Australian soldier within the Collectors' Club series.
