JR-15 – Jacobite Combat Set #2 – 2 Pieces
JR-15 – Jacobite Combat Set #2 takes the collection directly into the confusion and violence of close-quarter fighting.
This two-piece set is designed around combat rather than formation movement, making it particularly effective where the opposing battle lines have finally collided.
During the 1745 Rising, the Jacobites demonstrated that a determined charge could be devastating under favourable circumstances. At Prestonpans on 21 September 1745, the government army was defeated rapidly after the Jacobite attack reached its line. At Falkirk Muir in January 1746, the Jacobites again achieved battlefield success.
Culloden was very different. Government troops had been trained to meet the Highland attack more effectively, and Cumberland's artillery and disciplined infantry fire inflicted serious losses before many Jacobites could close.
JR-15 can be placed at the point of contact within a larger diorama, surrounded by charging Highlanders and government infantry. The paired figures immediately create a small story within the wider battle.
Available from The Military Workshop – a dramatic two-piece John Jenkins Designs combat set bringing the brutal close fighting of the Jacobite Rising into miniature.
