JR-27A – Lowland Infantry
Represent the disciplined ranks of the Jacobite Army with JR-27A – Lowland Infantry, a finely detailed hand-painted figure from The Jacobite Rebellion 1745 collection, available from The Military Workshop.
While Highland clans dominate popular accounts of the 1745 Rising, thousands of Lowland Scots fought in support of the Stuart cause. Organised into conventional infantry regiments, these soldiers were equipped and trained in a manner similar to the professional armies of Europe, providing an important backbone to the Jacobite force during its campaign through Scotland and England.
Many Lowland regiments fought alongside experienced Franco-Irish officers and regular soldiers, adopting French-inspired battlefield tactics that emphasised aggressive manoeuvre and determined close combat.
Beautifully sculpted and expertly hand-painted, JR-27A captures the appearance of these often-overlooked soldiers, making it an excellent addition to any Jacobite collection or Battle of Culloden display.
