JR-38B – Wounded Jacobite Fleeing

JR-38B – Wounded Jacobite Fleeing continues the aftermath theme with another figure withdrawing from the fighting.

Culloden was not simply the dramatic end of a charge. For individual Jacobite soldiers, defeat meant injury, confusion and an attempt to escape a battlefield increasingly controlled by government troops.

The treatment of Jacobite wounded and prisoners in the aftermath remains one of the darker and more controversial aspects of the campaign. Cumberland's post-battle measures contributed greatly to the enduring bitterness surrounding his reputation.

JR-38B works particularly effectively when combined with JR-38A. Position the wounded men at different distances from the fighting so that the retreat develops naturally behind the attacking Highlanders.

These figures also help avoid a battlefield in which every soldier appears untouched and permanently advancing.

Available through The Military Workshop – a highly expressive John Jenkins Designs wounded Jacobite adding realism and narrative depth to the final battle of the Rising.
