KX028 – The Last Stand | King & Country
The American frontier during the late 19th century was the setting for a series of bitter conflicts between the expanding United States and Native American nations defending their lands and independence.
The United States Cavalry became closely associated with these campaigns, operating from isolated frontier forts and undertaking long patrols across the Great Plains and the American Southwest.
One of the most famous encounters was the Battle of the Little Bighorn on 25 June 1876, where Lieutenant Colonel George Armstrong Custer and five companies of the U.S. 7th Cavalry were defeated by a coalition of Lakota, Northern Cheyenne and Arapaho warriors.
Although this King & Country figure belongs to the John Ford's Cavalry collection, rather than representing a specific documented participant at Little Bighorn, its dramatic theme recalls the desperate defensive fighting that became an enduring part of American Western history and cinema.
KX028 – The Last Stand by King & Country depicts a U.S. Cavalry trooper making a final determined defence against an approaching enemy.
The figure captures the intensity and desperation of close-quarter battlefield combat, providing an excellent addition to scenes featuring cavalry soldiers attempting to hold their position against overwhelming opposition.
Part of the King & Country John Ford's Cavalry range, this miniature is particularly suited to creating dramatic frontier battle scenes alongside other defending American cavalrymen.
