KX035 – Shooting Flagbearer | King & Country

During the closing decades of the 19th century, the United States Cavalry played a significant role in the westward expansion of the United States, serving across the vast plains, deserts and mountainous territories of the American frontier.

The cavalry became an enduring symbol of the American Old West, particularly through the classic Hollywood Westerns directed by John Ford. His celebrated cavalry trilogy, Fort Apache (1948), She Wore a Yellow Ribbon (1949) and Rio Grande (1950), brought the challenges and dangers of frontier military life to the cinema screen.

Regimental flags and standards were important symbols of military identity and loyalty, serving as rallying points during the confusion of battle. The responsibility of carrying and protecting these colours was an important duty.

KX035 – Shooting Flagbearer by King & Country captures a dramatic moment as a U.S. Cavalry flagbearer stands firmly holding the American flag in one hand while aiming and firing his revolver with the other.

Dressed in the distinctive blue cavalry uniform, the soldier appears determined to defend his position while keeping the flag raised during the fighting.

Part of the King & Country John Ford's Cavalry collection, this finely detailed figure is an excellent centrepiece for a U.S. Cavalry battlefield display, particularly when surrounded by other defending troopers.
