M-WIN-22 – Two Maratha Arab Mercenaries

Under its alternate supplied title, M-WIN-22 contains two Maratha Arab Mercenaries.

Arab soldiers formed one of the many military communities employed by Indian states during the 18th and early 19th centuries. Their presence is a reminder of just how diverse the armies of the subcontinent could be.

Rather than imagining Maratha forces as consisting of a single type of warrior, a more complete collection can include cavalry, artillery, locally raised infantry and mercenary troops with their own traditions and equipment.

These two figures can be positioned around the M-WIN-20 Standard Bearer and Musician to begin creating a distinct Arab mercenary contingent.

As more figures are added, keep the unit visually together so that its identity remains clear within the larger Maratha army.
