A convincing Maratha army benefits enormously from having enough infantry to form a genuine battle line rather than relying entirely upon colourful individual personalities.
M-WIN-32 – Two Maratha Infantry helps provide that strength.
The Maratha Confederacy became one of the dominant political forces in 18th-century India following the decline of Mughal central power. Its military forces campaigned across enormous areas and confronted numerous Indian rivals before becoming involved in a series of major wars against the British East India Company.
Infantry became increasingly significant during this period, particularly as commanders sought troops capable of operating effectively with artillery and standing against disciplined enemy formations.
M-WIN-32 can be mixed with M-WIN-31 and M-WIN-33 around the standard and musician of M-WIN-30. Slightly stagger the figures rather than arranging every man in a perfectly straight line and the formation will appear much more naturally active.
