M-WIN-33 – Two Maratha Infantry continues the expansion of the foot soldiers available for a substantial Maratha army.

The great strength of these paired infantry releases is their ability to be combined. One set provides a small vignette; several complementary sets begin to create the impression of an organised military force.

Maratha armies of the later 18th century could contain increasingly sophisticated infantry formations supported by artillery while their famous cavalry continued to provide mobility. This combination presented British and other Indian opponents with a much more complex challenge than the old stereotype of an army based almost entirely upon irregular horsemen.

Use M-WIN-33 among the other Maratha infantry codes, placing M-WIN-30's standard and musician centrally. Cavalry can then operate around the flanks while infantry holds the visual centre of the scene.

The result can become an impressively varied representation of warfare in India rather than simply two opposing rows of soldiers.
