MAC-07A – Three Phalangites with Coloured Shields
The continued expansion of the Macedonian battle line comes with MAC-07A – Three Phalangites with Coloured Shields.
These figures provide another variation within the sarissa-armed infantry and are particularly useful for collectors who prefer a formation with more individual shield character.
Ancient armies were not always as perfectly uniform as modern illustrations can suggest. Equipment could vary, particularly across long campaigns and among different contingents, making subtle differences within a large formation visually plausible.
What must remain consistent is the impression of discipline. Position MAC-07A close to the surrounding phalangites, allowing their sarissas to overlap with those of neighbouring ranks.
