MAD-01 – Beja Warriors Charging #1 – 2 Pieces
This two-piece version of MAD-01 gives collectors an immediate pair of charging Beja warriors, ideal for establishing the momentum of an attacking formation.
The eastern Sudan campaigns produced some of the fiercest encounters of Britain's involvement in the wider Mahdist War. Battles such as El Teb and Tamai in 1884 demonstrated both the determination of Beja fighters and the devastating power of disciplined modern infantry fire.
At Tamai, Mahdist forces succeeded in breaking into part of a British square, producing extremely close and confused fighting before the formation was restored.
Two charging figures can recreate the beginning of that kind of dramatic encounter. Place them several centimetres ahead of a larger group so they appear to have reached the enemy first.
Additional Beja sets can then be staggered behind them, producing the impression of a rapidly moving attack rather than a perfectly ordered line.
