MAD-04 – Beja Warriors Casualties #2
The second Beja casualty group, MAD-04, provides another side of the story of the warriors who fought in the eastern Sudan.
British accounts often expressed a mixture of imperial-era prejudice and genuine respect for the courage of their opponents. The Beja's battlefield reputation was shaped in part by attacks that continued despite very heavy fire.
John Jenkins Designs' casualty figures allow that reality to be represented rather than showing only an endless wave of untouched warriors.
Mix MAD-04 among the MAD-01 and MAD-02 charging figures, leaving some casualties well behind the leading edge of the attack and others closer to the opposing troops.
This creates a much more convincing progression across the battlefield and gives the attacking formation a sense of distance travelled under fire.
