MBHL-08N - Four British Marines | John Jenkins Designs

This four-figure set represents British Marines participating in the assault on the American redoubt at Breed's Hill during the Battle of Bunker Hill on 17 June 1775.

The set contains four Marine figures and provides collectors with a larger group of British troops for recreating this important early engagement of the American War of Independence.

The British Marines were an established part of the Royal Navy's military forces, trained for shipboard service, amphibious operations and fighting ashore.

During 1775, detachments sent to Boston were assembled into battalions to support British military operations against the colonial forces.

The 1st and 2nd Marine Battalions played an important role in the attacks against Breed's Hill, particularly the assault on the southern defences of the redoubt.

Although the American defenders successfully resisted the first two major attacks, British troops eventually entered the fortification during the third assault.

The engagement resulted in heavy casualties, demonstrating the difficulty of attacking a well-defended position.

MBHL-08N is suitable for collectors wishing to create a larger British Marine formation, particularly when displayed alongside the redoubt sections and American colonial defenders.

This four-figure set also complements the smaller MBHL-08 release and other Marine infantry and command figures.
