MBHL-21 - Two British Marine Light Infantry | John Jenkins Designs

This two-figure set depicts British Marine Light Infantry during the Battle of Bunker Hill on 17 June 1775.

The set includes one Marine standing with his musket directed towards the ground and another kneeling with a hand on the ground, providing contrasting poses for a battlefield display.

The British Marines were trained to operate aboard Royal Navy vessels and undertake military operations ashore. During the American War of Independence, Marine detachments played an important role in supporting British regular forces.

At Bunker Hill, the Marine battalions participated in the assaults against the American defensive positions constructed on Breed's Hill.

The American defenders had prepared earthwork fortifications overlooking Boston and successfully resisted the initial British attacks.

During the final assault, British infantry and Marines succeeded in entering the redoubt after the defenders exhausted much of their ammunition.

The varied poses of the figures make this set useful for depicting Marines moving forward, preparing for action or occupying ground during the assault.

MBHL-21 complements the larger four-figure MBHL-21N set and can be displayed alongside the other British Marine Light Infantry figures to recreate the attacking force at Breed's Hill.
