NKE-03 – Egyptian War Chariot | John Jenkins Designs

During the New Kingdom period, Ancient Egypt developed a powerful chariot arm that became an essential component of the Pharaoh's military forces.

Egyptian war chariots were constructed as lightweight, fast-moving vehicles, generally drawn by two horses and carrying a driver and a fighting soldier.

Their speed and manoeuvrability made them particularly effective as mobile platforms for archers, allowing Egyptian forces to deliver missile fire while moving across the battlefield.

The chariot reached a peak of importance during the reign of Ramesses II, whose army confronted the Hittite Empire at the famous Battle of Kadesh in 1274 BC.

Fought near the Orontes River, the Battle of Kadesh became one of the most celebrated military engagements of the ancient world, involving thousands of chariots from the opposing armies.

NKE-03 – Egyptian War Chariot by John Jenkins Designs features a beautifully detailed two-horse Egyptian chariot carrying two crewmen.

The set includes a driver holding a whip and shield, together with an Egyptian archer positioned in the chariot, ready to engage enemy forces.

This arrangement illustrates the battlefield role of the Egyptian chariot as a mobile fighting platform.

Part of the John Jenkins Designs New Kingdom Egyptians – Battle of Kadesh collection, this model provides an impressive addition to any Ancient Egyptian military display.
