NKE-05B – Drummer | John Jenkins Designs

The New Kingdom period represented one of the most prosperous and militarily powerful eras in the history of Ancient Egypt.

During this period, Egyptian armies undertook major campaigns beyond the Nile Valley, particularly under the Pharaohs of the 19th and 20th Dynasties.

The reign of Ramesses II became especially associated with Egypt's military achievements, including the famous Battle of Kadesh in 1274 BC against the Hittite Empire.

The Egyptian army included infantry, archers, chariot formations and supporting personnel who contributed to the organisation and operation of the military.

NKE-05B – Drummer by John Jenkins Designs represents an Egyptian military drummer, adding an important supporting character to the soldiers and battlefield formations within the collection.

This figure complements NKE-05A – Musician and the Egyptian infantry, archers and chariot troops.

Part of the New Kingdom Egyptians – Battle of Kadesh collection, the drummer provides an interesting addition to an Egyptian army on the march or a larger military encampment.
