NKE-20B – Libyan Mercenary | John Jenkins Designs

During the New Kingdom of Ancient Egypt, Libyan warriors were among the foreign soldiers who served within the Pharaoh's military forces.

The Libyan peoples included the Tehenu, Temehu, Kehek and Meshwesh, groups whose relationships with Egypt involved periods of conflict as well as military service.

During the reigns of Merenptah and Ramesses III, Libyan warriors were involved in several campaigns against Egyptian forces. Captured soldiers were sometimes incorporated into Egyptian auxiliary units.

Their distinctive appearance included animal-hide cloaks and ostrich feathers worn in their hair, while their weapons included bows and long slashing swords.

NKE-20B – Libyan Mercenary by John Jenkins Designs represents one of the Libyan warriors in the manufacturer's New Kingdom Egyptians – Battle of Kadesh collection.

This individually available figure belongs to the series of Libyan mercenaries designed to complement the Egyptian infantry, archers and other foreign troops.

An excellent addition to a larger display of Ancient Egyptian and Libyan military formations.
