NKE-22 – Libyan Mercenary | John Jenkins Designs

The Libyan peoples played an important role in the military history of Ancient Egypt, appearing both as opponents of the Pharaohs and as soldiers serving within Egyptian armies.

During the 20th Dynasty, Egyptian forces faced several attempted invasions involving Libyan tribes and groups associated with the Sea Peoples.

One of the most significant conflicts occurred during the reign of Ramesses III, when Egyptian forces fought against a coalition of Libyan and Sea Peoples warriors.

The Libyans were recognised for their distinctive appearance, particularly their animal-skin cloaks and coloured ostrich feathers.

Their weapons included bows and long swords suited to close-quarter fighting.

NKE-22 – Libyan Mercenary by John Jenkins Designs depicts a Libyan warrior advancing with his sword extended outwards towards his right side, preparing to engage an opposing soldier.

This figure is designed to complement other Libyan infantrymen in the John Jenkins Designs New Kingdom Egyptians range, allowing collectors to assemble a varied fighting force.
