NM-06A – Norman Knight | John Jenkins Designs
For much of the Battle of Hastings, William's cavalry faced the daunting task of attacking uphill against a densely packed Anglo-Saxon shield wall.
NM-06A – Norman Knight represents one of the mounted warriors committed to that difficult struggle.
The battle lasted for many hours, with repeated attacks by Norman archers, infantry and cavalry gradually wearing down Harold's army. Medieval sources also describe episodes in which English troops pursued retreating Normans, leaving the security of their defensive position.
A mounted figure such as NM-06A can therefore be used in several ways – advancing towards the Saxons, regrouping with other cavalry or exploiting a gap that has opened in the enemy formation.
Available through The Military Workshop – a dynamic John Jenkins Designs Norman knight for recreating the hard-fought cavalry actions of 1066.
Brand: John Jenkins
