NM-2429B – Norman Swordsman & Spearman
William’s army at Hastings contained warriors equipped with a variety of weapons, reflecting the different roles and fighting styles found within an 11th-century Norman force. Spears were widespread among the infantry, while the sword remained a formidable close-combat weapon.
NM-2429B – Norman Swordsman & Spearman combines two complementary Norman warriors in one set. The spearman provides the reach and defensive versatility of the spear, while the swordsman represents the brutal close-quarter fighting that could develop once opposing formations came together.
With two contrasting poses, this set is particularly useful for adding variety and movement to a larger Norman battle line and works beautifully alongside the other infantry and mounted warriors in the collection.
Available from The Military Workshop – a versatile two-figure John Jenkins set for recreating the Norman army at Hastings in 1066.
