NM-30A – Norman Armoured Archer

Archery formed an important part of William’s tactics at Hastings. Norman archers were deployed during the opening stages of the battle and continued to support attacks against the Anglo-Saxon position throughout the day.

NM-30A – Norman Armoured Archer represents a more heavily protected bowman, combining the range of the bow with additional protection for the dangers of the battlefield. Archers could harass the Saxon line from a distance before infantry and cavalry moved forward to continue the assault.

The addition of armoured archers gives a Norman army greater visual and historical variety, showing that William’s force consisted of far more than the famous mounted knights.
