PMRR-03Y – Princeps, Yellow Shield (2 pcs) | John Jenkins Designs

PMRR-03Y presents two Principes in the yellow shield variation, combining the experienced soldiers of Rome’s second line with a distinctive alternative colour scheme.

The Principes belonged to the traditional manipular organisation of the Republican army, forming the line behind the younger Hastati. Their greater experience meant they could be called upon if the first line could no longer maintain the attack.

This two-man set is particularly useful when building a formation gradually. It can stand alone as a small section of infantry or be mixed with the larger PMRR-03YN group to create a much more substantial body of troops.

The yellow shields also allow the set to coordinate naturally with the matching command, cavalry and camp releases in the wider Mid-Republic range.
