As a Roman army grew larger on display, individual variations became increasingly important.
PMRR-04R – Principes provides another experienced heavy infantryman for the second line of the Mid-Republic legion, carrying the red shield variation.
The Principes stood behind the Hastati and were expected to take over the fighting when required. This gave the Roman army a reserve of seasoned troops and helped prevent the entire force from being committed at once.
For collectors, PMRR-04R is especially useful because it introduces another pose into a unit that may already contain several Principes sets. Placed among PMRR-02R and PMRR-03R figures, it creates the natural differences in stance and movement that make a large formation much more convincing.
