Johnson’s Royal Regiment of New York was a Loyalist unit raised during the American Revolutionary War and closely associated with the frontier conflict in New York and the surrounding regions.

REF-05 provides two soldiers from the regiment, representing the Loyalist military presence that operated alongside British forces and Indigenous allies during the war.

Many Loyalists faced displacement themselves as the Revolution divided communities and forced families to choose between competing political loyalties.

This two-figure set therefore works particularly well alongside the REF civilian groups. The soldiers can appear to escort refugees, guard a route or form part of a larger Loyalist column.
