Lead your Roman Legion with ROM004 – Roman Centurion from King & Country, available now at The Military Workshop.
Following the release of the prestigious Primum Pilus—the senior Centurion of a Roman Legion—this figure represents the regular Centurion, one of the most respected and influential officers in the Roman Army. Typically commanding a century of around 80–90 legionaries, Centurions were responsible for maintaining discipline, training their soldiers, and leading them into battle.
Unlike many officers throughout history, Roman Centurions were expected to lead from the front, inspiring their men through courage and example. This often resulted in a high casualty rate, with experienced leaders constantly being replaced as campaigns continued across the Empire.
The Centurion was instantly recognisable by the transverse horsehair crest adorning his helmet, allowing his legionaries to identify their commander amid the chaos of battle. In contrast to the lorica segmentata armour commonly worn by the rank and file, this veteran officer is equipped with a protective chainmail vest (lorica hamata), reflecting the equipment often favoured by Roman officers.
Expertly hand-painted in 1:30 scale, ROM004 – Roman Centurion captures the authority, confidence, and battlefield presence of one of history's greatest military leaders. Whether leading a formation of legionaries or displayed as a standalone centrepiece, this figure is an outstanding addition to any Roman collection.
Available from The Military Workshop, your destination for premium military miniatures, historical figures, vehicles, and diorama accessories.
