ROM200B offers the Water Carrier with a black shield, providing collectors with another option when assembling their Roman forces.

Water was one of the most basic logistical requirements of any army. Roman troops campaigning across Europe, North Africa and the Near East could not rely solely upon battlefield discipline; their effectiveness also depended upon the organisation of supplies, camps, roads and the necessities of daily life.

Here the emphasis is firmly upon that less frequently represented aspect of the Roman soldier's experience. The legionary is occupied with a practical camp duty rather than combat, giving him a natural place among tents, baggage and other resting or working soldiers.

The black shield distinguishes this version from ROM200A and ROM200C and is especially useful for collectors who enjoy introducing visual variation throughout a larger encampment.
